



TIMOTHY POLASHEK
Timothy Polashek is an active composer writing for a variety of ensembles
and media, including vocal, instrumental, and electro-acoustic music,
text/sound compositions, and interactive performance systems. His
music has been widely performed, including concerts in Hong Kong,
Brazil, Moscow, and other European countries. He was a panelist at the
2000 conference of the Society of Electro-Acoustic Music in the US,
addressing the topic of spatialization theory and the nature of
collaboration between engineers and musicians. His interactive
text/sound installation "Tinkering with sound" debuted at the Lincoln
Center summer festival in New York City, July 14th, 2000.
He was the technical producer and contributing author for "Making Music
with MIDI", Music textbooks and CD-ROMs for grades 1-6, Silver Burdett
and Pearson Education, 2002.
His academic degrees include the Doctor of Musical Arts in Composition
from Columbia University, the Master of Arts in Electro-Acoustic Music
from Dartmouth College, and BA in music from Grinnell College.
